My name is Matthew 👋 I am a multifaceted chef, content creator, food writer, photographer and native New Yorker. If you’ve made it here, it was probably through my many social pages where I share my love for storytelling through food. Over the last 14 years of my career in restaurants & food, along with having eaten at some of the most renowned places in the world, my palate and my experiences have brought me here to share with all of you.
My culinary adventure started like most, at a very young age cooking in the kitchen with my mother and grandmother. Later graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, I then went on to work in some of NYC’s most prestigious restaurants including, Per Se, Le Bernardin and Blue Hill at Stone Barns. A few years prior to the pandemic, I stepped away from kitchens to pick up a camera and begin shooting full time. What started as just food photography blossomed into not only being a licensed drone pilot but really shooting all things hospitality; restaurants yes, but hotels, events & more! During the pandemic, this became difficult due to the closing of restaurants and other pandemic issues, but pushed me back into kitchens to begin cooking for people who needed it. Which then blossomed into a lot of dinner parties, like a lot a lot. Which then brings us to where we are now…
I can often be found hosting secret ticketed pop-up dinners around Westchester and the Hudson Valley. I’m available for private dinner parties and at-home/virtual cooking classes and act really as an overall source for culinary knowledge. I have started a YouTube channel to help teach at home cooks how to significantly upgrade their skills to make cooking more approachable. As well as a @Tastemade partnership to helping create mouthwatering foodporn. The past few years have been crazy to say the least, pushing all of us out of our comfort zones and into the passions of life. What’s in store for THEARTOFEATING?
